What's Important About Church?
A few days ago I posted some thoughts about church services, why they matter and how they might be focused better on what matters, on my personal Xanga site. In case anyone here is interested in that topic, here's a link. Feel free to post comments there or here. I'd love to hear what you think.

Clearly you haven't been attending our church. :)
Next time you're in town....
Amy,
I've visited your church more than once, and I think it's pretty safe to say that if I lived within, say, 50 miles of it, I would be attending there. :)
But envy is a sin....... :)

Well, we've already had one church plant out of state, and I hear talk of a second...maybe for our third they can consider one out your way?
I'll have you know, though, Adam's pretty well set on the next one being in Hawaii, and making sure we're on the planting team. :P
50 miles is a long ways to go to attend a specific church, and there would likely be scores (if not hundreds) that are closer. That church must match your particular belief system pretty well.
Doug,
Actually, I disagree with the church on a few somewhat-significant doctrinal issues. I wouldn't be attending it because of its tight agreement with my belief system. But, that church does a great job (better than any other church I have known) of building true, vibrant, Christ-centered community. There's nothing more important for the body of Christ than to love one another as Christ loves us, and to live out that love in very practical ways. That particular church, from what I've seen, does a very good job of that aspect of church life.

Ooh, now you've got me curious...which ones?
Amy...
I think I'll pass for now. Sorry. :)

Mark,
Thanks for the further explanation. That was dumb of me to assume a reason. I appreciate your gentle response.
